FITT Workout Plan

A FITT workout plan is a simple tool for planning exercise, based on:

  • Frequency: How often you exercise (e.g., number of times per week)
  • Intensity: How hard you exercise (light, moderate, or high intensity)
  • Time: How long the session lasts
  • Type: What kind of activity you do (eg. walking, strength training)

Why use the FITT form?

A well-structured FITT form helps both you and your healthcare professionals have a clear and organized plan for physical activity. It makes it easier to:

  • Track progress over time.
  • Adjust the amount and intensity of exercise as needed.
  • Ensure that the training is varied and balanced.
  • Prevent injuries by appropriately adapting the load.

When should the plan be reviewed?

It is important that the training plan is reviewed regularly, for example after 4–8 weeks, so it can be adjusted according to your development and any changes in health or life situation. In the form, you can fill in a date for when the plan should be re-evaluated.
